By accessing or using ExifClean (https://exifclean.cabokit.com), operated by Cabokit, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Service description
ExifClean provides a free browser tool to preview common photo metadata and strip EXIF / related containers by re-encoding the image locally. The service is currently provided without charge and without requiring an account.
Results vary by file and device. We do not guarantee that every metadata field, format quirk, or third-party requirement will be removed. Text burned into the image (watermarks, maps, captions) is not EXIF and may remain after cleaning.
2. Local processing; no hosted file storage
Image tools are designed so that your files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to ExifClean servers for storage or processing. You remain responsible for securing your device, browser, and any downloaded output files.
Do not rely on us to store, recover, or back up any file. Always keep original copies of important images before stripping metadata.
3. Your content and legal responsibility
You alone choose which files to process. You represent that you have all rights and permissions needed to process those files, and that your use complies with applicable law (including copyright, privacy, and publicity rights).
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use ExifClean for unlawful purposes
- Attempt to abuse, overload, scrape, or automate the service in a way that harms availability or security
- Attempt to bypass technical limits, security measures, or access controls
- Misrepresent ExifClean as an official service of any third-party brand or platform
5. Technical limits
ExifClean may enforce limits such as supported input formats (JPG, PNG, WebP) or export formats. Limits may change. Large files may cause slow performance or failures on some devices. HEIC and similar formats may not be supported in all browsers.
6. Third-party sites and sister tools
ExifClean may link to other Cabokit tools or third-party websites. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content or policies.
7. No warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CABOKIT AND EXIFCLEAN DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CABOKIT, EXIFCLEAN, AND THEIR OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR FROM PROCESSING RESULTS.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim (currently $0 for the free tool) or (b) USD $50.
9. Changes and termination
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service or these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. The “Last updated” date on this page will change when we revise the Terms.
