Why JPEGs carry so much EXIF
The EXIF standard grew up around camera JPEGs: orientation, exposure, lens data, and often GPS. When you download or forward the original .jpg, those tags usually travel with it. Stripping before you archive or publish is the reliable fix.

Quality notes for JPG export
Re-encoding JPEG can nudge quality and size. For screenshots or graphics where sharp edges matter, PNG export after strip avoids another lossy JPEG pass. For photos, JPG export is usually fine at the tool’s default quality.
