About ExifClean

ExifClean (https://exifclean.cabokit.com) is a free Cabokit tool that helps you see common photo metadata—and strip it—before you share. Processing stays in your browser; files are not uploaded to our servers.

What it does

  • Preview GPS, camera make/model, timestamps, and other common EXIF fields when present
  • Re-encode locally so EXIF / related containers are dropped, then download JPG, PNG, or WebP
  • Clear privacy-first messaging: no signup, no upload, no claim to remove text burned into the image pixels

Privacy-first by design

Metadata reading and stripping use browser APIs on your device. Optional analytics run only if you accept cookies. Read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use for full details.

Open-source libraries

EXIF / IPTC / XMP inspection uses ExifReader (MPL-2.0) entirely in your browser. Stripping re-encodes the image locally so metadata containers are dropped. We do not use a server-side metadata pipeline.

How it differs from ResizeImg and ImageToSize

ExifClean targets clean metadata. ResizeImg changes width × height in pixels. ImageToSize compresses to a target file size in KB. Use them together when you need privacy, size, and weight.
